Back weakness/instability

Back weakness/instability

Symptoms: General muscle tightness, achy pain and a feeling of loss of confidence in your back, episodes of severe pain can also occur usually caused by an everyday movement.

Reason misalignment is a factor: Strengthening an unstable back can be an uphill battle, you usually take one step forward and 2 steps back. Correcting alignment is a fundamental first step in creating the optimal conditions for your back to heal and strengthen. Misalignment causes muscles to be excessively shortened and lengthened as well as cause inflammation and pain. Excessive weakening can cause instability, as the muscles cannot properly help the ligaments to stabilise the lower back.

How Pelvipro treats this: Realignment can reverse weakness or instability by creating the optimal position for muscles to strengthen. It also reduces inflammation and pain, this allows key muscles to reactivate helping the ligaments stabilise.

“The pelvipro is my back’s trusty friend! If my back goes out, I can quickly put it back before too much damage has been done, if I have a niggle in my back, I use it to ease it and strengthen the muscles.”

Sciatic Nerve Stretch

This is a very commonly used exercise. It flosses the sciatic nerve within the body. Where the nerve has been tethered or compressed, this exercise is designed to mobilise and work it free.

Piriformis Stretch

This stretch focuses on stretching the piriformis muscle. However, if the pelvis is misaligned after a short period of time the piriformis simply tightens back up.
