What does Pelvipro do that stretches and exercises cannot?

People who are new to Pelvipro sometimes ask us what additional benefits and value it brings on top of doing standard stretches and exercises to relieve their back pain.

Some people may already be seeing a physiotherapist or going to Pilates sessions and be experiencing a degree of pain relief from doing so. It’s understandable they would therefore wonder why they ought to use Pelvipro as well.

Pelvipro is a drug-free treatment that hands control of pain management to the back pain or sciatica sufferer. It is safe, simple to use and has been shown in trials to be highly effective in reducing or eliminating lower back pain.

Basically, Pelvipro is the step before the exercise and stretching stage. Most exercises to relieve back pain are stabilising exercises but if your back is not in the right position, you won’t get the pain relief benefits. Pelvipro puts your back in the optimal position so that anything else you do to help strengthen and improve it has the greatest effect possible.

However, Pelvipro also facilitates so much more in respect of physiological and psychological benefits.

We are working with a sizable network of physiotherapists, personal trainers and Pilates instructors who use the device as part of their treatment of people with back pain. They assess their clients using three special tests – the Gillet’s Test, Modified Ober’s Test and Functional Leg Length Test – to demonstrate patterns of movement around the lumbo-pelvic-femoral region, and they use Pelvipro because it has been shown to resolve all three of these tests. Pelvipro was developed because there was no exercise or stretch modality in existence that could resolve these three tests, and that would empower people through their ability to use it at home to manage their lower back pain.

We have gone a further step in running trials demonstrating what the resolution of these tests equates to, in terms of back pain sufferers’ symptoms and the positive effect Pelvipro has on them. We used Core Low Back Pain Outcome Measurements (IMMPACT), which are designed to capture the full picture of the effects of back pain by exploring all its facets:

  • Pain – Level of pain (VAS), frequency of pain and the patients’ report of meaningful pain relief following an intervention. 87% of people trialled reported pain reduction, and 95% reported pain relief straight after using Pelvipro
  • Physical Functioning – We used the RMDQ of which 95% reported an improvement after 60 days’ use of Pelvipro. We also surveyed their sleep, and 90% reported an improvement
  • Emotional Functioning – We surveyed their stress levels (95% of trial patients reported a reduction) and fear levels (87% reduction)
  • The patients’ overall rating of global improvements – this included a satisfaction rating of the intervention. Global improvement was 74% which was the average, with 92% of those trialled attributing their improvement to Pelvipro and giving a rating of 9.5/10 for satisfaction of treatment

Through our hands-on treatments in clinic we already knew the positive impact that resolution of these tests would have on their symptoms. However, when we started putting Pelvipro in our clients’ hands, it far exceeded our expectations of the improvement of both their physical and psychological symptoms.

Many of the people who use Pelvipro do so to complement other treatments such as physiotherapy or Pilates. Why not read this review of Pelvipro from one of the many people who have found it invaluable?
